Celtics hold off furious Lakers’ comeback

Kobe Bryant couldn’t take it anymore, so he took it out on his teammates. With Game 2, and perhaps Los Angeles’ season slipping away, the league’s MVP looked around the huddle and used some harsh words to fire up the Lakers. They responded, dug deep and made a remarkable comeback that fell small. Now they have to make a larger one.

The Boston Celtics left the comforts of home exalted and exhausted, halfway to hoisting a 17th NBA championship banner. They’re up 2-0 in the NBA finals. But they needed some of their leprechaun’s luck to get there. Paul Pierce, darting around the parquet floor with ease, scored 28 points, unknown Leon Powe added 21 and the Celtics held off a remarkable rally by Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles…
