Written by on Thursday, July 31st, 2008 in Latest News.

As Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire stormed off the field following his latest ejection, he punted his cap high over his head and back onto the turf. The emotional exit fired up his Twins and sparked them to a four-run inning. But it also ignited the Metrodome crowd to nasty results. Jason Kubel’s three-run homer highlighted an unruly seventh inning in the Twins’ 10-6 victory over the Chicago White…

Big Brother 10 - Episode Recap: July 31, 2008

Written by on Thursday, July 31st, 2008 in Latest News.

And another one bites the dust. And again, it was a snoozer. That is, a unanimous vote that came as no real surprise and further demonstrates that no one in the house is yet ready to stand up and make a real game-changing move. (But keep telling yourself you did, Keesha!)

Before we get to tonight’s details, I want to reveal the mystery changes I hinted were coming in the last blog. I suppose saying “changes” was misleading, because there is only one change, but I think it’s pretty cool. So, here it is: Brian, this season’s first evictee will be joining our blog for the rest of the season! After each eviction, he will share his thoughts with me, and they will be included in Krista’s Sunday night posts, reflecting on the week that was, the eviction, and making predictions for the coming week. He seemed to have the game figured out in his head when we last spoke, and I’m sure he’ll be able to add some new insight to the blog. So, make him feel welcome!

As alluded to earlier, nothing really shook up the house this week, except, of course, for an earthquake. I know it’s kind of serious, but the Big Brother gang made it kind of funny, especially Jerry’s belief that somehow the house was being moved as part of the game or that a truck ran into the house. And then of course, Jessie feeling the need in the heat of the moment to take his shirt off. Best of all, the producers pulled together an extra special themed HOH competition that tied in this week’s quake. But more on that later. All in all, I’m glad everyone’s safe…thanks to Jessie’s abs I’m sure.

I’m really tired of every eviction night edit building up a story to put doubt in our minds as to who is going home, only to then have a unanimous vote in the other direction. I know they feel the need to build suspense, but at this point, who are they fooling? Plus, I think there must be more telling moments they could show us about the players who will be carrying on next week, rather than rehashing the nominees’ failed attempts to rally support. But sometimes they do provide some color.

Like Jerry’s latest shouting match, for instance. First of all, Jerry is your garden variety floater, and that’s been true since day one. His nominations and eviction were at the request of others, and he has flip-flopped with the tide of the house ever since. So, despite my enjoyment of the drama that unfolded, I really don’t see why Michelle got so upset that Jerry “talked junk” about her. They all know he is going to side with the power, a fact he even admitted during the squabble. So why then would an alliance that could be in power next week gang up on him over a couple off-hand comments? I know Memphis thought Jerry was indicating a change in the other half of the house’s votes, but was all that shouting and posturing necessary, I say no. Jerry didn’t apologize for that fight (he did for calling Memphis a womanizer), and in this case, I don’t blame him. I wonder what the grandkids think?

Keesha’s solo chat with Julie was par for the course. Angie betrayed Steven, blah blah, blah. I’ll keep my word to Libra, yada yada, yada. I did find it interesting that she said she is more loyal to Renny, though. I can only hope that it comes to a decision between the two down the line to see where she really stands.

So, Dan (who Julie finally set straight about his Mrs. Chen remarks) is America’s player. Can’t blame the kid for wanting $20,000. After all, that’s not that far from second place. I wonder if there are any stipulations that could cost him the cash that we don’t know about. I know most of you were against bringing this feature back, but I think it could mix things up a bit. And with all the predictable votes and silly revenge nominations, that’s something I’m hoping for.

Finally, I laughed at Ollie, April and Libra’s power walking session in the back yard. They were weighing their Angie/Jessie options (which had become iffy since Jessie’s arrogance had gotten out of hand, particularly toward Libra) and talking them out. (See above my disdain for building the case of how the house might vote only to go with the original, boring plan.) I particularly liked how as they worked toward a conclusion their pace quickened, and by the end of the power session when they had agreed, they were running. Coincidental I’m sure, but I still chuckled. (And are the houseguests ever going to realize that that trio is going to pick them all off if they don’t tear it apart?)

So as you may have guessed from my groaning, the house sent Angie out the door with an 8-0 vote. She did make quite the speech prior to the votes, but again, this house needs more division. And with the JAMM alliance (the only ones creating a little bit of that division) now JMM, it’s not looking good. Plus they are still voting with the house to save face. Come on, people, play dirty!

The show ended with the earthquake-themed HOH still in progress, as it was an endurance contest. I’d say the boys with the muscles have a slight edge, but Dan is also fighting as America’s player. And the ladies have represented well in endurance comps the last couple seasons. We shall see what happens!

So, what do you think of Angie’s eviction? (Share any questions you’d like me to ask her tomorrow when I interview her!) Who do you want to/think will win HOH? Are you excited to have Brian join the blog each week? Why does Jessie always talk to the camera when not in the diary room? Ok, enough questions, now it’s your turn. Get to commenting, and while you’re here, vote in our Power Rankings poll! (Be sure to leave your reasons in the comments, too!) We’ll see you back here Sunday for Krista’s recap and Brian’s debut! — Adam

Brett Favre is one of the Best of the Best!   PERIOD

All the pathetic excuses and opinions won’t change history!

The worst part is how this is panning out is the way the Packers’ organization has treated THEIR Legend.  They treated Javon Walker like a GOD compared to Favre!
And I thought Favre WAS their God! Holy Mary Mother of Favre…

The Packers force a decision prematurely…then ask him again to reconsider as they prepare to move on.  Only to say NO when he does finally want to come back.

They all the sudden acted like they had to play a whole year without him, sucked, (which they will), and it’s his entire fault! That’s what it comes down to.

The Pack Organization basically blames him…“It’s Brett’s Fault.  We didn’t go to the Super Bowl!” Overlooking the fact that it was Favre and his fast arm that got them there!

Maybe McCarthy should have called a run play in that overtime first down! You think? Thanks a lot Mike McDoucheBag!

1. Can’t Start/ Can’t Compete:   Packers say he can backup “A. Rodg” (Dumbest nickname ever) and hold a clipboard on the sidelines next to the Gatorade Cooler! NICE Welcome Back! (Biggest insult ever said to a QB Legend)(Not a great way to protect his legacy, which they acted so worried about. Please!)  They didn’t even say compete for starting QB because we all know what that outcome would be! Ha Ha Ha Ha
not even a chance “A Rodg.”

2. No Release for you!: After Brett decides to be the better man and NOT tell Mike and teddy to Go Eat a Dik, he asks for his release (as any man with a backbone would do) to go to a team that DOES want him and his legendary skills. Seems like two-thirds of the NFL could use a Favre!

Just so happens that the Vikings are a QB or so shy of being true contenders (on paper).  After that, of course, all of the Packers’ staff and fans just pinched out a few bricks! (Not as bad as the Bears). (Not good enough to start over “A Rodg,” but too good to go to a division rival).  I’m sure they’d love to see him on the Chiefs!

3.Trade? What Trade?: Jets and Tampa can stop having fisted fantasies about Favre.  He actually wants to win! So they should give up unless their going to immediately trade him to the Vikings.

(”Miami doesn’t need Favre.”)  Really?  I guess they don’t need to win either! They must STILL be rebuilding after they did the same thing to Dan Marino! Pay Backs a Mutha Fuka! Ha Ha Ha Ha Very Much Deserved! “The NFL…Dolphin Safe for 10 years!

4.Buyout = Paid to go Away!: As if asking him to backup his former Towel boy was not insulting enough, now they fly Murphy down to “sippi” with a check for $20 million for Favre to stay home and mow his lawn! Ha Ha Ha.  Are you serious? “No Respect I tell Ya…No Respect!”

Here’s an idea….

LET BRETT FAVRE GO! If he ain’t anything to you and you want something in return, trade him to the Vikings! YOU’RE MOVING FORWARD RIGHT? If you’re so pumped up on “A Rodg,” THEN YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

Then DO WHATS RIGHT AND LET HIM GO SOMEWHERE HE IS WANTED. YOU HAVEN’T GIVEN HIM ANY OPTIONS SO DO THE RIGHT THING!
