Miami Valley transplant going for gold

After running away with the competition at the recent Olympic Trials heptathlon, then coming back home to Kettering in China-bound triumph, Hyleas Fountain sat at a side table at the Panera Bread cafe in the Town and Country shopping center the other day and talked about the first time the Olympic Games grabbed her attention: “I don’t remember much about Barcelona, but I do remember the ’96 Olympics. I certainly remember Atlanta.” Lynn Smith was sitting next to her, and his face twitched ever so slightly at that. He remembers Atlanta, too.
