Poll: GOP Delegates Strongly Back Bush

The vast majority of delegates to the Republican National Convention approve of the job George W. Bush has done as president, putting them at odds with most American people and forcing soon-to-be Republican presidential nominee John McCain into a balancing act as he looks to fire up delegates in St. Paul while also courting a nationwide audience.

Pa. Republican Watching Gustav During Convention

On the eve of the Republican National Convention as preparations and plans for the event go down to the wire there’s a very real worry that Hurricane Gustav might turn into another Katrina. President Bush and Vice President Cheney have both cancelled their trips to the convention, which is set to get underway Monday in Minnesota.
