In the November issue of MORE Magazine, Tea Leoni, Sharon Stone and Jane Fonda are interviewed for a feature on ageism in Hollywood. Each actress has defied well loved conceptions about the roles women their age should play.

MORE Magazine is targeted at women over 40, so it’s appropriate that these actresses were featured. At 42, Tea Leoni is thrilled at how her roles have changed since turning 40, and is fascinated by older actresses. “It’s not just that a 28-year-ancient doesn’t have a lot of experience. It’s that I don’t worry about a 28-year-ancient, certainly not one who looks like most of the young leading ladies,” Tea Leoni tells MORE Magazine.

Sharon Stone is eight years older than Tea Leoni, but has shattered the stereotype that older actresses aren’t sexy. Her steamy reprise in ‘Basic Instinct 2’ illustrates this point perfectly.

And at 70, Jane Fonda has plenty to teach Tea Leoni and Sharon Stone about staying relevant in Hollywood. Her acting career has spanned over four decades, and Fonda has always found a way to make headlines.
