Lance Armstrong & Girlfriend Expecting a Child

Lance Armstrong and girlfriend Anna Hansen are expecting their first child together, the cycling champ tells PEOPLE. “Anna and I are thrilled to confirm that we are expecting in June and our families are ecstatic and grateful,” he says in a statement. “We are very much looking forward to what 2009 brings on many fronts.” He adds: “We appreciate respecting our privacy, as we are both keen to celebrate the holidays as a family.” Armstrong, 37, who won seven straight Tour de France races after battling testicular cancer, announced in September his return to professional cycling and the Tour de France next year.

Rick Warren: Not anti-gay to oppose gay marriage (AP)

AP – Pastor Rick Warren, chosen by President-elect Barack Obama to pray at his inauguration, said in a video message to his church that he doesn’t equate gay relationships with incest or pedophilia, but opposes redefining marriage just as any conservative Christian would.

Gay-rights leaders’ enthusiasm for Obama subsides (AP)

AP – Gay-rights activists remain hopeful about the Obama presidency but are now more wary after what one called a “double punch to the gut” — the choice of a pastor they consider hostile for a prime inauguration role and dashed hopes for the first openly gay Cabinet member.
