Work is officially under way on a new H E B Plus store in Southeast Austin that is set to open next spring, replacing the 25-year-ancient store at East Riverside Drive and South Pleasant Valley Road. It will be H E B’s first new store in that vicinity since the San Antonio-based chain and dominant grocer in Central Texas opened a location on East Seventh Street in 1999.
