As many as five people have died in a fiery traffic collision in northern B.C., police say.
A tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle collided on Highway 97 outside the town of McLeese Lake, about 350 kilometres north of Vancouver.
“After the collision, both vehicles burst out into flames and the passenger vehicle is so terribly burnt that we are not able to determine what it is right now,” RCMP Insp. Warren Brown told CBC News.
“Nor are we able to get an exact count for the number of deceased, but there are multiple and as many as five.”
