Canadian actress Elisha Cuthbert has been tapped as the female lead in ABC’s pilot comedy Pleased Endings, the network has announced.
The show follows a bride and groom after they break up at the altar and have to figure out how they can maintain their relationship with their four friends.
Cuthbert, 27, will play the bride. The groom has not yet been cast, but the friends will include actors Eliza Coupe, Casey Wilson and Damon Waymans Jr.
ABC has yet to announce when the show will be on the air.
Born in Calgary and raised Montreal, Cuthbert is best known for playing the daughter of Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) on television series 24. Last week, ABC abruptly finished the show’s first season, putting its future into question.
She recently had a recurring role in ABC’s drama The Forgotten.
