Police are now looking for a second man.

The identity of the man who died has not been confirmed. It’s not immediately known how he died, but police were certain one man had been shot during the shootout.

Police are also looking for Sawyer Clarke Robison, 27, who was reportedly seen leaving the home after four officers arrived at the property Tuesday.

Two officers were wounded in an exchange of gunfire at the house around 2 p.m. local time as they attempted to do a search warrant for a .45-calibre handgun.

The two, who are recovering in Edmonton hospitals with non-life threatening wounds, have been identified as Const. Sheldon Shah and Const. Sidney Gaudette, of the Killam Detachment.

One officer has five years of RCMP service and the other officer has place in two years on the job.

Robison is described as having a fit appearance, is six-foot-two and weighing about 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He may be driving a black 2000 Chevrolet Silverado with Alberta licence plate number UZE 245.

Missing man could be perilous

The RCMP considers him a person of interest in the shootings, and believe he could be armed and perilous.

This individual should be considered a high risk and members of the public should not approach him, said Sgt. Patrick Webb.

“It would be in Robison’s best interests to call the nearest RCMP detachment as soon as possible to make arrangements to speak with the investigators,” said Webb.

Meanwhile, police are continuing the search of the residences and outbuildings on the property.

Investigators from the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team, a civilian agency that probes incidents involving police that cause serious injury or death, are also at the scene.
