Police in eastern Ontario arrested an 18-year-ancient after a triple shooting in the small community of Mountain View that left a woman and a teenage girl dead.

Ontario Provincial Police found the women’s bodies at a home south of Belleville on Friday morning. The victims were identified as Tracy Hannah, 46, and her 14-year-ancient daughter Whitney. An 18-year-ancient female family member was also injured and is in stable condition in hospital.

Police said the 18-year-ancient suspect, from Belleville, will appear in court Saturday. They did not release his name.

At about 6 a.m. Friday, Prince Edward County OPP responded to a 911 call about a shooting at a house on Valley Road. After a chase, police made an arrest in nearby Trenton, about three hours after the killings.

“It was crazy,” Trenton resident Jay Miller said. “As I entered town, there was probably 20, 25 police cars all over the place. There were officers on the bridges with automatic weapons drawn.”

Miller said he saw police with a young man in the back of a cruiser moments after he was arrested. He said the man appeared to be about five feet six inches tall and had small dark hair.

“Investigators believe the person responsible is in custody at this time,” OPP Sgt. Kristine Rae told CBC News. “Officers are at different areas, at the scene of Valley Road, as well as at other locations.”
